Londonderry by train (Historical)

This
will be a walking tour of the city, visiting the walls, the
Cathedral and the Tower Museum
Meet
at Belfast Central Station for the 8.20. train to Londonderry
(please organise your own ticket). We shall be leaving Londonderry
on the 17.20 train, arriving in Belfast at 19.42. There will be a
new train timetable before this so please check for any change in
train times.

19th September,
Castle Espie
(Geology/Archaeology)
Conductors : Marion Allen and Annie Given
Meet
in the tea room at Castle Espie at 10.30 for tea and scones (£4
per head).
The
Centre does not open until 10.30 am but the gate will be open from
10.15am so as we can assemble in the tea room at 10.30 sharp. We
will look at the recently discovered rare Hoffman brick kiln. James
Orr will talk about the plans for the future development for Castle
Espie.
We
will then to Conlig to visit the lead mines. The short, steep walk
to the mines will require stout shoes . Our last visit of the day
will be to Glastry to observe the unusual red clay deposits.
